Don’t fall into the trap
If you want to get into sim racing, do not follow stigmas or into the the trap of the popularity contest. Doesn’t mater what kind of budget or gear you have, what matters is you and that you’re having fun. With that said have a moment to think about what kinda of player you are, what type of racing series you like, rally, formula, GT, drifting… I say this because if you start with something that you are already a fan of, that’s half the battle for you to have fun and your enjoyment will be bigger. Doesn’t matter the game, what matters is that you like it.
Don’t jump immediately into online racing. If you starting with a new game, explore the game as much as you can. Experiment every car, tracks, conditions, learn the ins and outs. Some games are actually better played offline because they have really good career modes and challenges. Online isn’t everything, there’s more stuff to enjoy. Sometimes I just spend time testing setup changes and experimenting, or just creating liveries, not even racing at all.
So what I’m trying to say here is, make the time you spend in sim racing about yourself and what you like to do. We are actually in a good era of sim racing, there are plenty of good games now, different series, types of games, serious simulators or more arcade ones. There is something for everyone these days. Even racing Engineers so you don’t even have to be the driver!
So maybe this was not you expected with this title. But I see plenty of people making the mistake of playing something just because it’s the flavor of the month.. And that’s the trap. Make your time about you!
